Support the race to help children beat cancer
The Orchard Practice company director Malcolm Isaacs reveals why he his running 10k to help beat cancer and how you can help.
Last year I had an operation to help avoid pancreatic cancer. I had my pancreas, spleen and part of my stomach removed.
Thanks to Charles Imber, the surgeon and his staff and with the support of my friends and family I am lucky to still be here and want to give something back especially to kids suffering from cancer who should have their whole life ahead of them.
Cancer doesn’t just affect the individual. It takes its toll on a whole family, parents, grandparents’ brothers and sisters.
It was hard enough to deal with this at my age, I can’t imagine having to go through it as a child.
On 27th May, and at almost 73 years of age, I will be running 10k for Children with Cancer and ask for your support.
Every day 12 families in the UK receive the devastating news that their child has cancer.
Through funding vital specialist research, Children with Cancer UK has done everything in its power to give these children the best chance to survive.
With your support Children with Cancer UK can fund more than 60 research projects across the UK accelerating breakthroughs to help drive up childhood cancer survival rates and find kinder, more effective treatments to reduce long-term side effects. This ground breaking research saves children’s lives and would otherwise go unfunded.
A single child dying from cancer is one too many.
It would be great if you could sponsor me in my run to help create a future in which every child with cancer survives and experiences the life changing moment when they ring the end of treatment bell.
Please go to www.virginmoneygiving.com/malcolmisaacs and help me raise as much as possible.
Many thanks,
Malcolm.
